Easy Brackets:  Easy on / off Motorcycle Saddlebag Bolt-on System

Overview | Frequently Asked Questions

The Easy Bracket System is a clean mount bolt-on system.  These wonderful bolt-on saddlebag supports provide easy on-off latching for your bags.  You don't need an engineering degree or a dedicated afternoon to install.  Other than a drill and a screwdriver (to drill the holes in your bags and mount the brackets on the bags), the Easy Brackets do not requiretools; nor do you need to purchase any other hardware (such as bolts or screws).   Everything you need to mount the kit is included.  However, for some motorcycle models turn signal relocation may be required (please see the specific product description for details or download our Easy Bracket Fitting Guide); relocation kits are not included and must be purchased separately if required.

The Easy Bracket kit comes with four stainless steel docking posts, two mounting plates and all the hardware you need to install the posts and the plates onto your bags.  Our bag are reinforced to work with Easy Brackets so you don't need to purchase any additional stiffening materials.

When mounted to the saddlebag, the brackets simply slips onto the docking posts and locks into place with a twist of a key into the barrel lock.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  Do I need to purchase these Easy Brackets if I purchase your saddlebags?

A:   No.  Our saddlebags will work with many different OEM and aftermarket supports.  We offer Easy Brackets for your convenience.

Q:  Do I need to purchase any other Hardware to use this product?

A:   No, the kit comes complete with all necessary hardware, screws, etc.  All you need is a drill so that you can drill the holes to secure the plate to your saddlebag.  You may, however, have to purchase turn signal relocation kits if your turn signals are on the fender rail and otherwise occupy a bolt hole where the Easy Brackets would mount.

Q:  Do I need to purchase other saddlebag supports or stand-off guards to keep the bags away from the wheels?

A:   No, the Easy Bracket mounting plate eliminates the need for any additional saddlebag supports or stand-off guards.  Once the bags are removed only the small docking posts remain.

Q:  Do I have to drill holes in my fender?

A:   No, you do not have to do any drastic modifications like that to your motorcycle, although for some models you may have to relocate your turn signals.  Even Deuce owners do not need to drill holes in their fender.

Q:  Will the bracket remain on my motorcycle?

A:   No, only the small docking posts will remain on your motorcycle.  They are small and made from highly polished stainless steel-- very unobtrusive (See photo above).

Q:  I have a backrest and/or luggage rack.  Will this make a difference?

A:   It depends.  Some models, like the Honda VTX, Dyna and Softails (to name a few) have special kits to specifically address backrests.  When in doubt, note on your order that you have a backrest and/or luggage rack in the comments section.  We'll read this and communicate this to Easy Brackets when they drop ship or tell you if something is not available.

Q:  If I have a backrest, then do I have to purchase an 'Adapter Kit' too?

A:   No.  If you purchase the correct Easy Bracket kit (or communicate to us what you have so that we can send the right kit to you)then everything you need is in that kit-- no hidden or 'gotcha' fees.

Q:  I don't have a backrest now, but will get one soon.  Will this be a problem?

A:   Yes and No.  First, for most motorcycles you'll only need to purchase longer bolts or new docking posts (we can arrange this separately).  For some motorcycle, however (such as the Honda VTX) the kits cannot be adapted so easily and you might end up having to purchase another kit.  If you're in this situation, ask us and we'll tell you what might be involved.

Q:  For my motorcycle, it says that I must relocate my turn signals.  Is the turn signal relocation kit included with the Easy Brackets?

A:   No, these must be purchased separately.  Turn signal relocation kits can be found through your dealer, favorite aftermarket supplier (such as J&P Cycles) or other places.  We do sell turn signal relocation kits for Harley Davidson Dyna, Softails and Sportsters.

Q:  How long will it take to get these from when I order?

A:  Unlike the leather products, we do not make these but have them dropped shipped (some models we do keep a limited stock).  Most orders are sent out about 5 business days (upper estimate) from when you order.  The shipping time to your location depends on where you live.  Keep in mind that these are sent separate from your bags (we combine the shipments for International Orders to save our customers shipping costs).  Please see our Shipping Page for a map with a good estimate of shipping times.

Q:  Will these work with my saddlebags?

A:  If you are purchasing the bags from us, then yes.  The back of our bags are reinforced with two 1/8" plastic plates giving the bag an overall thickness of 3/8" (nearly 1/2").  The brackets will work with most other bags, especially if the back are flat (not contoured to work with specific hardware or molded to avoid certain motorcycle parts) and stiff.

Q:  Do I have to order two kits?

A: Unless you are purchasing for two different motorcycles, then no.  A single kit contains two brackets, four docking posts, and all the hardware need to mount a set (both sides) of saddlebags.

Q:  Will these be shipped with my bags?

A: We generally drop-ship these items but do have a stock of some of the more popular brackets.  Either way, we do provide tracking information when available.

Q: Is there an Easy Bracket available for my motorcycle?

A: More than likely, yes.  Simply click on your motorcycle manufacturer's link below for a list of available Easy Brackets for specific motorcycles.  If you manufacturer is not listed, then Easy Brackets does not make a kit for it.
