Custom Chaps: Standard Features and Options

These custom-made motorcycle chaps are made from a heavy, but butter-soft and supple, 4 - 5 oz. Top-Grain Leather. All seams are sewn with a heavy rot-proof nylon thread and stress areas are reinforced with nickel-plated brass rivets. Standard features for these chaps include: heavy buckles, deluxe braid finish along top of chaps, adjustable Velcro back closures, heavy rustproof aluminum zippers, leather over flaps to cover zippers, and side snaps to secure the bottom of the legs. And, just like the rest of our leather products, they're 100% made in the USA.

Each pair of chaps is custom-tailored to your measurements - so you don't have to try to figure out what 'size' you need or settle for a less than optimal fit.

Custom Chaps: Frequently Asked Questions

A: The price depends on your measurements and the options you choose. The base price is $159.95, with additional charges for larger waist, thigh and inseam sizes. 

A: No, our chaps are not one piece.  There are six main panels that make up a single leg; three in the front and three in the back (very long chaps may have up to four panels).  The seams are specially sewn and reinforced to ensure long life.  We can offer single piece (per leg)) or two piece (each leg has a single front and a single back panel). A: No, because of the heavy (but soft) nature of our chaps, lining is not really necessary.  Although there are a few premium quality chaps that have lining, most other companies line their chaps to hide the fact that they use thinner leather.  When shopping, do note the leather thickness. As a reminder our chaps are an average of 4 oz thickness.

A: Of course we want to work with you, but there is a bit of give and take regarding ordering custom chaps over the internet/mail order and given that these chaps are made just for you, we can't accept returns (we will fix/exchange if there is a defect at no shipping cost to you).

To minimize any problems, we have gone to great lengths to provide our customers with useful hints to measure themselves (see Measuring Hints Page).  If you measure carefully and follow our directions, you should not have any problems. We will, within reason, work with you.  If we made a mistake we will fix/repair/replace out of our own pocket; however if the mistake was a measuring error on your end, we will offer a single complimentary 'fix it' where you send the chaps back to us for modifications.  Return shipping charges may apply.

A: Because of the nature of mail order fitting, we have found that if you go above a certain size, the customer's best chance of fitting is a personalized one-on-one measurement and fittings.  Obviously, this cannot be done effectively via mail order.  Thus, if you have larger than a 26" thigh and/or a 45" waist, our mail order service probably is not for you.
